Phil Steele includes Kentucky in his college football top 25

The Cats are finally getting more respect.

When college football fans want a preview of the teams across the country, they turn to Phil Steele’s Football Preview. In the past, the Kentucky Wildcats didn’t get much respect from Steele, but it seems like all of that is changing in 2020.

Just last week, Steele included nine Wildcats in his Preseason All-SEC Teams including:

  • Darian Kinnard, First Team Offensive Tackle
  • Drake Jackson, First Team Center
  • Max Duffy, First Team Punter
  • Landon Young, Second Team Offensive Tackle
  • Quinton Bohanna, Second Team Defensive Lineman
  • Boogie Watson, Second Team Linebacker
  • Josh Ali, Fourth Team Wide Receiver
  • Josh Paschal, Fourth Team Defensive Line
  • Kelvin Joseph, Fourth Team Defensive Back

Steele also had Max Duffy and Darian Kinnard on his All-American list.

However, Steele continues to be very high on the Cats in 2020 as they made his preseason top 25 as he has them coming in as the No. 21 team in America and they are one of eight SEC teams on the list.

Here is how he has the top 25:

  1. Ohio State
  2. Clemson
  3. Alabama
  4. Oklahoma
  5. Texas A&M
  6. LSU
  7. Georgia
  8. Notre Dame
  9. Oregon
  10. Penn State
  11. USC
  12. Texas
  13. Florida
  14. Wisconsin
  15. Michigan
  16. North Carolina
  17. Miami
  18. Virginia Tech
  19. Auburn
  20. Tennessee
  21. Kentucky
  22. UCF
  23. Iowa
  24. Oklahoma State
  25. Memphis

Kentucky has the potential to have a huge 2020 season with all the talent that they are returning on both sides of the ball. We just need the season to actually happen.

Due to the coronavirus, Phil Steele’s college football preview is going to be harder to find but you can get it online here.
