Makur Maker is ready to make his college decision.

On Thursday, the five-star center announced he would make his college pick next week. His finalists include the Kentucky Wildcats, UCLA Bruins, Memphis Tigers and Howard Bison.

A consensus five-star prospect, Maker is ranked 17th nationally and the fourth-best center by 247 Sports Composite. The 6-11, 235-pound center spent this past season at Hillcrest Prep in Arizona.

Earlier this offseason, Jon Rothstein reported that Kentucky and UCLA were the co-favorites for Maker ‘if’ he attends college, though going pro is also an option since he’s eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft.

However, Maker recently said that UCLA was his leader if he goes to school.

For what it’s worth, all six predictions at 247 Sports are in favor of Maker going pro.

I seriously doubt Maker ends up at Kentucky, but John Calipari and his staff have been making the talented center a priority. As of now, the only true center on Kentucky’s roster is Olivier Sarr, and he’s still waiting to hear if the NCAA will grant him immediate eligibility.

Even is Sarr is eligible, Kentucky needs another true center to back him up, and Maker would be a great addition.
