Kentucky Wildcats linebacker Chris Oats has taken the next step in his recovery from an undisclosed medical issue.
According to Mike Dyer of WCPO, Oats has been moved from a hospital to a rehabilitation facility. It remains unclear what exactly happened to the Cincinnati native, as reports surfaced last week that Oats was in the hospital with a serious medical condition. All we know is that it is not COVID-19.
It is good to know Oats has progressed enough to begin rehabbing from whatever is plaguing him, but his football future remains uncertain at this time. He was expected to compete for the starting middle linebacker spot next season left vacated by Kash Daniel, who graduated and had his eligibility expire.
We will update this story if any more details on Oats become available. For now, all we can do is hope and pray Oats makes it through this challenging period of his life.
