Cole Cubelic ranks both UK starting offensive tackles among top 5 in SEC

More respect for the UK offensive line.

While the Kentucky Wildcats Football program as a whole is still seeking respect from the national media after going a combined 18-8, the past two seasons’ one position group is finally getting much-deserved attention.

That would be the Wildcats offensive line that helped pave the way for the SEC’s top rushing attack last season.

Their latest recognition comes from ESPN and SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic, who named both of the Cats starting offensive tackles among the five best in the Southeastern Conference.

Cubelic ranked Redshirt Senior Landon Young as the SEC’s second-best offensive tackle and junior Darian Kinnard as the leagues third best.

Young was named All-SEC Third Team by Athlon Sports last season after starting all 13 games at left tackle and recording 64 knockdown blocks.

Kinnard was named Second-team offensive tackle by pro football focus after starting all 13 games at right tackle with 32 knockdown blocks.

The Wildcat duo joined Alabama’s Alex Leatherwood, Carson Green of Texas A&M and Tennessee’s Wanya Morris on Cubelic’s list.
