One of the top players in the class of 2021 has released his final list of schools, and as expected, there are no Kentucky Wildcats.
Chet Holmgren, the top player in the class (once Jon Kuminga officially reclassifies from 2021 to 2020), released a final list of North Carolina, Michigan, Gonzaga, Georgetown, Ohio State, Memphis, and hometown Minnesota.

It’s odd to see a No. 1 overall recruiting cutting Kentucky from contention this early in the recruiting cycle, but the Wildcats never seemed highly interested in Holmgren. In fact, Kentucky never actually offered Holmgren a scholarship or visited the 7-footer from Minneapolis.
Kentucky has only been in contact with a select few of the top players in 2021, and have prioritized big man Paolo Banchero as their big man of the future, and opting to skip out on Holmgren.
Gonzaga and Minnesota are seen as the two favorites to land Holmgren’s services.
