John Calipari and Mike Brey have discussed Madison Square Garden as potential neutral site venue

Kentucky and Notre Dame could be headed to MSG

NCAA Basketball: Big East Tournament- St. John’s vs Creighton Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

With Kentucky and Notre Dame set for a home-and-home series for the next few years, they have the task of finding a neutral site venue for one of their three games.

The Kentucky Wildcats will host the first game this season at Rupp Arena, and Kentucky will make the return trip to South Bend in 2022.

So where do we play for the neutral site game? One potential site is Madison Square Garden, which John Calipari and Mike Brey have discussed. Kentucky is no stranger to playing at MSG, where the Champions Classic is played quite often, and they even faced Seton Hall in a thriller back in 2018 and played Monmouth in 2017.

Kentucky and Notre Dame last met in the 2015 Elite Eight, which, prior to Wisconsin, was one of Kentucky’s closest encounter of that season. The two programs last met in the regular season back in 2012, in which a Nerlens Noel led Kentucky squad lost by 14 in South Bend.
