Because of the recent tragedies taking place around the country, schools and athletes have been using their platform to speak out against the many injustices that have been committed recently.
Now, UK Athletics has issued a statement in support of its black athletes while also condemning the racism and bigotry that is plaguing our country. They are also calling on the Big Blue Nation to show the same support.
We, the Big Blue Nation, must come together as one community and demand a new standard.

We must do our part to establish equality, so we can make progress toward unity.

In addition, today is Blackout Tuesday, a day promoted by activists to mourn and bring about policy change in the wake of the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, as well as the ensuing riots that have taken place this week.
Various UK Twitter accounts are taking part in the movement by posting messages featuring black backgrounds.

It is time to take a bigger stand against racism, and the folks at UK are doing their part to do so.
