The national media continues to sleep on the Kentucky Wildcats.
For each SEC squad, CBS Sports projected all 12 games and came to the projection of a 6-6 season for the Wildcats, which would mark their worst season since going 5-7 in 2015.
Here’s how the season would look if CBS Sports’ projections were to turn out accurate:
Week 1: Eastern Michigan Eagles (W 1-0)
Week: 2 Florida Gators (L 1-1, 0-1)
Week 3: Kent State Golden Flashes (2-1, 0-1)
Week 4: South Carolina Gamecocks (L 2-2, 0-2)
Week 5: Auburn Tigers (L 2-3, 0-3)
Week 6: Eastern Illinois Panthers (W 3-3, 0-3)
Week 7: Vanderbilt Commodores (4-3, 1-3)
Week 8: Missouri Tigers (L 4-4, 1-4)
Week 9: Bye
Week 10: Tennessee Volunteers (L 4-5, 1-5)
Week 11: Mississippi State Bulldogs (W 5-5, 2-5)
Week 12: Georgia Bulldogs (L 5-6, 2-6)
Week 13: Louisville Cardinals (W 6-6, 2-6)
It’s hard to imagine Kentucky dropping six games with nearly their entire offensive line returning, Terry Wilson healthy and a loaded defense. Thus, these projections will likely only serve as fuel for the Wildcats heading into 2020.
Here’s how CBS Sports projects the SEC East will shape out:
- Florida Gators (11-1, 7-1)
- Georgia Bulldogs (10-2, 6-2)
- Tennessee Volunteers (9-3, 5-3)
- Missouri Tigers (7-5, 3-5)
- South Carolina Gamecocks 6-6, 3-5)
- Kentucky Wildcats (6-6, 2-6)
- Vanderbilt Commodores (3-9, 0-8)
