Wednesday Quickies: Kentucky Sports Mount Rushmore Edition

Who makes the list of the state’s all-time sports legends?

Adolph Rupp Watching Basketball Game

Going back through history and looking at all the sports legends that came from the Bluegrass State, who would you place on your Mt. Rushmore?

The Courier Journal put that question out into the public and the sports department at the Courier Journal released their picks also.

Of figures from the University of Kentucky, a nearly unanimous selection was former Kentucky coach Adolph Rupp. Rupp, of course, is the winningest coach in the university’s history and one of the winningest of all time.

The unanimous selection among the writers? Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, for obvious reasons.

You can check out the picks here and this list is a good look at all of the impressive athletes that have come from the Commonwealth.
