I was able to speak with Wimsatt to get a brief update on his recruitment.
You just received an offer from Kentucky, what does that mean to you?
Wimsatt: It means a lot as an in-state kid because a lot of people in my city dream of going to UK to play football.
Who at UK has been your lead recruiter?
Wimsatt: Coach (Mark) Perry was main recruiter at first. Then I started talking to coach (Darin) Hinshaw more.
How has dealing with the recruiting process been different with the whole COVID-19 shutdown?
Wimsatt: It’s been pretty difficult because I haven’t been able to go on visits and the coaches can’t come see me for spring practice.
What about Kentucky has stood out to you?
Wimsatt: The atmosphere is great, and they make it feel like home. Their facilities at Kentucky are also top tier.
Thanks to Wimsatt for the interview. Check out some highlights of his junior season:
