The NBA is looking to potentially delay the start of the 2020-2021 NBA season.
The season normally starts in late October, but according to a recent report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA may be looking to postpone next season, starting it in December instead of its usual late-October start.
The reason, as you could have guessed, is the coronavirus.
The virus, which is sweeping across the United States, has caused the NBA to be suspended for over a month and will likely force them to either cancel the playoffs or morph the schedule into something that could fit into a mid-to-late summer competition.
Here’s how Adrian Wojnarowski phrased it.

Starting the season later or reducing the amount of games could be an option, but nothing is solidified for now. The NBA Draft lottery which was scheduled in May has been postponed indefinitely along with the combine.
As states start to open up, the NBA is making sure that it is taking every precaution, one that may start with the team’s opening their practice facilities and utilizing social distancing for individual workouts.
It was hopeful that at the start of May this would’ve been a reality, but it may be farther down the calendar them many predicted. That said, we’ll keep you up to date on any further action the NBA takes to postpone their draft and season.
