Evansville transfer DeAndre Williams is ready to make his decision.

According to Memphis reporter John Martin, Williams will be making his decision Friday.

The talented forward is deciding between the Memphis Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats, Baylor Bears and Arkansas Razorbacks. The recent buzz suggests Kentucky will not be the pick.

Williams, a point forward who can do a little bit of everything, averaged 15.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 2.7 assists per game this past season as a sophomore for the Evansville Purple Aces. Among his biggest outings included 26 points and nine boards vs. Ball State, 20 and 15 vs. IUPUI, 28 and six vs. Valparaiso, and 37 and 10 vs. Miami-Ohio.

While the Wildcats have been seeking frontcourt help, they were was able to land Wake Forest big man Olivier Sarr last week. He was easily the best frontcourt transfer this offseason. So while Kentucky probably won’t land Williams, they still go the guy they needed most.

Williams would be an odd fit for Kentucky, who returns sophomore Keion Brooks Jr. to man the 4 spot, while incoming freshman forwards Lance Ware and Isaiah Jackson will also likely see significant playing time at the 4.

Williams can also play the 3, where one of Brandon Boston or Terrence Clarke figures to play heavy minutes next season.
