Davoan Hawkins enters transfer portal

Hawkins becomes the second Kentucky defensive lineman to enter the portal.

UK Athletics

Just hours after Cavon Butler announced he was leaving the Kentucky Wildcats, another defensive lineman has entered the transfer portal.

The latest transfer comes from Davoan Hawkins, who announced the news on Twitter:

Hawkins, who hails from Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood (FL), was originally a Class of 2018 recruit who chose Kentucky over Wisconsin, Louisville, North Carolina State, Cincinnati, and Florida Atlantic. He was high school teammates with Kentucky players Josh Ali, B.J. Alexander and Akeem Hayes.

The 6-2, 282-pound Hawkins was ranked 783rd nationally and 37th among strongside defensive end. He saw action in nine games this past season as a redshirt freshman, notching three tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and one QB hurry.

Best of luck to Hawkins as he looks for a new college to call home.
