Going into each football season, the Kentucky Wildcats are never given any respect for the previous year.
Even after the Wildcats had a 10-win season, they were still predicted to finish next to last in the SEC East which didn’t happen as they went 8-5 and finished 4th in the East even after losing their starting QB for the final 11 games of the season.
Once again, Kentucky isn’t getting any credit for the consistency they are building as CBS predicts them to finish 6th in the SEC East just ahead of Vanderbilt.
“The Wildcats should get Terry Wilson back at quarterback and could have Auburn transfer Joey Gatewood in the bullpen as long as he gets a waiver from the NCAA. But the absence of Swiss Army Knife Lynn Bowden will be too tough to overcome in the race to win the SEC East. The rotating cross-division game at Auburn on Oct. 3 is a tough break, and road games at Florida and Tennessee won’t do the Wildcats any favors.”
CBS has the Cats going 6-6 with a 2-6 SEC record and this is how they have the schedule playing out.
Wins: Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Eastern Illinois, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, at Louisville
Losses: at Florida, South Carolina, at Auburn, at Missouri, at Tennessee, Georgia
The bulletin board material has stacked up the last couple days with the SEC Network mocking Terry Wilson and now CBS predicting the Cats to finish near the bottom of the East and barely get bowl eligible.
