John Calipari has had his fair share of transfers in recent years, and Johnny Juzang is the latest.
A few weeks ago, Juzang announced he would be leaving UK to find a new college. And today, he found that home, as he announced his commitment to the UCLA Bruins.
Not long after the announcement was made, Calipari weighed in with a similar message that he’s had for previous transfers.
Talked to @JohnnyJuzang last night and wish him the best. Great young man and a terrific basketball player. He knows we are always here for him and that #BBN will be rooting for him. #LaFamilia https://t.co/u7Ib2QWecV

Even when players leave UK, Calipari does his best to remain connected with them, and in some instances, keep them connected to UK.
When Marcus Lee left UK in 2016, Calipari still brought him back to Lexington for a basketball camp that very summer. Other former Cats who have transferred eventually found their way back to Lexington in some capacity, as Calipari maintains a strong connection with nearly everyone he has the privilege of coaching.
Calipari also does everything he can to help transfers get immediate eligibility, just like he did last year with Quade Green (Washington) and Jemarl Baker Jr. (Arizona). Because of this, we should expect to see Juzang gain immediate eligibility next season at UCLA, regardless of whether the NCAA passes the one-time transfer rule or not.
Here’s to hoping Juzang finds happiness at his new college and goes on to have a productive career.
