Some rare good news regarding the future of the 2020 college football season was delivered Thursday.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports there is a “strong conviction” there will be college football this season.
Speaking to people in and around college football this week, there is “strong conviction” there will be college football this season. Uncertainty about when - multiple scenarios being debated - but they sound certain there still will be college football this season.

This comes with several fearful the 2020 season could be canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
While it is good news that the expectation is for football to be played, there still seems to be a question of where and when. Schefter reports “uncertainty” about when the season may be played and that there are still “ multiple scenarios” being debated.
The simple answer for some may be to play in empty stadiums, but college football and athletic departments rely heavily on football ticket sales.
Regardless, hearing that folks around college football sound “certain” that there will be a 2020 season at some point is far more promising than those such as Kirk Herbstreit, who has his doubts.
Still, take this with a grain of salt as no one truly knows when or if the Football season will indeed happen.
