Where the Wildcats stand in ESPN’s new mock draft

Three Wildcats just barely sneak in at the end of Round 2.

As it currently stands, the Kentucky Wildcats have already lost two players to the NBA Draft in Ashton Hagans and Tyrese Maxey. However, the thought that Immanuel Quickley, Nick Richards, and EJ Montgomery could also be on their way to the draft is very real.

With that being said, ESPN released their newest mock draft, and it included four Kentucky players going in the 60 picks.

The first Kentucky player getting selected was Maxey who they have going #12 overall to the San Antonio Spurs giving Calipari yet another player taken in the lottery.

All the other Kentucky players getting selected are in the last 10 picks of the entire draft.

The next name on the list is Ashton Hagans going #53 overall to the Charlotte Hornets, which would put him with former Cats PJ Washington and Malik Monk.

At #57, we have Nick Richards going to the Los Angeles Clippers, joining one of the top championship contending teams in the NBA currently.

The last Kentucky player selected is SEC Player of the Year Immanuel Quickley, who is projected to be picked at #58 going to the Toronto Raptors.

The only Kentucky player that may decide to keep his name in the draft and didn’t make the list is EJ Montgomery, who may simply want to be a pro now and be done with college, even if he’s not playing in the NBA.

Here is what the lottery of this NBA mock draft looks like:

1. Warriors - Anthony Edwards

2. Cavaliers - James Wiseman

3. Hawks - Isaac Okoro

4. Timberwolves - LaMelo Ball

5. Pistons - Onyeka Okongwu

6. Knicks - Deni Avdija

7. Bulls - Obi Toppin

8. Hornets - Precious Achiuwa

9. Wizards - Tyrese Haliburton

10. Suns - Killian Hayes

11. Kings - RJ Hampton

12. Spurs - Tyrese Maxey

13. Trail Blazers - Cole Anthony

14. Pelicans - Aaron Nesmith
