On Monday, it was announced that Purdue Boilermakers center Matt Haarms would become a graduate transfer. He instantly became one of the top transfers on the market, and the Kentucky Wildcats are in desperate need of frontcourt help.
So, it only makes sense that UK could wind up showing interest in the 7-3, 250-pound Haarms, who currently ranks fourth in Purdue history with 210 blocks. He’s just the kind of shot-blocking rim protector UK needs for next season with Nick Richards and EJ Montgomery possibly leaving for the NBA Draft and Nate Sestina graduating.
It just so happens that UK signee Terrence Clarke hopes to see Haarms with him in Lexington next season.
I would https://t.co/nHcqKUHm8Z

Maybe Clarke is just playing around, or maybe he knows UK is about to make a push for Haarms. Whatever the case may be, it’s good to see there’s already a recruiting effort of sorts from Clarke to get one of the top transfers of the 2020 offseason.
It remains to be seen how interested UK will be in Haarms, but I imagine John Calipari and his staff are at least doing their due diligence with the soon-to-be senior. But I’d imagine plenty of other big-time programs will come calling as well, so this could turn into one of the biggest transfer recruiting battles of the offseason.
