Ashton Hagans’ time at Kentucky has come to a close, as of today. Hagans officially declared for the NBA Draft, with no intention of withdrawing his name.
Hagans gave us plenty of memories over the past two seasons, and we should all be thankful for that, regardless of how the season may have ended with Hagans. He helped UK win 56 games over the last two seasons while making the Elite Eight during his freshman season. UK was poised for another deep postseason run with Hagans running the show this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic led to the NCAA Tournament being canceled.
Let’s see how the Big Blue Nation reacted to Hagans’ announcement:
Always a Wildcat. #BBN thank you for everything these last two seasons. pic.twitter.com/zsbtYYgzQX

What people need to think about w Ashton Hagans is he was not fully healthy all season. Gave his heart and soul to the team. That’s what needs to be remembered. Has size to play in NBA and is special defensively and physically but will have to prove offensive shooting in DL

Your reaction to Ashton Hagans saying he's NBA-bound and will forego his final 2 years of eligibility at Kentucky?
— rickbozich (@rickbozich) April 5, 2020
No big deal?
Blow for the Wildcats?
Too soon to tell?
John Calipari has it covered?
The ending of Ashton Hagans’ career at Kentucky will be one of the most bizarre finishes I can recollect in recent memory, ranked right up there with Jarred Vanderbilt. #BBN

It's a shame that Hagans' last moments on the court as a Kentucky player were for that second half against Tennessee in Rupp.

Hagans is no question one of the best defensive guards in UK history. All-Time Kentucky Assist record would have also, likely, been broken if he stayed 4 years
