Another former Kentucky Wildcats target in the 2020 class is off to the G-League.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that UCLA Bruins signee Daishen Nix has agreed to a deal with the G-League. It’s reportedly for around $300,000. He will join top-10 recruits Jalen Green and Isaiah Todd in the revamped G-League.
G League deal for Daishen Nix — arguably the best point guard in the 2021 NBA draft — is expected to be in the $300,000 range, sources said. https://t.co/V96P84WInb

Nix, who hails from Las Vegas (NV), is a 6-5, 205-pound recruit who’s the top-ranked point guard and 11th-ranked overall prospect at 247 Sports, Kentucky made his final list before he ultimately committed to UCLA, though he never did earn a scholarship offer from John Calipari.
Kentucky was actually set to face Nix and the Bruins next season in the CBS Sports Classic in a battle of preseason top-25 teams. This will be a massive blow to UCLA’s outlook next season in Year 2 of the Mick Cronin era.
If you’re keeping score, that’s three former UK recruits (Nix, Green and Todd) who are off to the G-League, while other former recruits in Karim Mane, Kai Sotto and Greg Brown have also been pursued by the league.
There will undoubtedly be more players who the G-League makes a strong push for. Let’s just hope they’re not Kentucky signees, but after the Terrence Clarke scare, don’t be surprised if more future Wildcats aren’t pursued by the league.
