Five-star forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. is one of the most coveted prospects in the 2021 recruiting class.
The 6-9 Wisconsin native is still considering a large variety of schools, including the Kentucky Wildcats.
Monday, Baldwin spoke with Corey Evans of Rivals about UK’s interest and several other notes about his recruiting process.
On UK, the five-star said, “Their pitch has just been a lot of things that we knew going in which was that they produce a lot of NBA talent, play in the SEC, they have really good teams and talent in that league. A really big pitch is that they know that I am really talented but if you come to Kentucky, that they aren’t guaranteeing you anything,”
Baldwin also discussed several of the other schools chasing him that he is considering. These schools including Duke, North Carolina and Northwestern.
247’s lone crystal ball projection for the five-star is for Duke, while 100% of Rivals’ future casts are also for the Blue Devils.
At this point, UK does not seem to be among the favorites. Baldwin noted that he took unofficial visits to Duke, North Carolina and Northwestern and with no timetable on when recruits will be able to take trips again, it may be hard for the Wildcats to get back in the game.
On the flip side, there’s still nearly a year until Baldwin has to put pen to paper on any decision.
