Rivals ranks the three-star wide receiver form Leesburg (GA) as the 65th-best receiver in the class of 2021. Credit for this pledge goes to Jon Sumrall, the UK linebackers coach who has done a great job expanding Kentucky’s recruiting in the south as of late, and he was the lead recruiter for Magwood.
Magwood had six schools on six schools on his final list; Louisville, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida State, Nebraska, Arkansas. That being said, this commitment does not come as a surprise as Kentucky had received 10 of 10 predictions on the Rivals FutureCast leading up to the commitment.
The 6-foot receiver will play quarterback this fall for his high school team, so perhaps we could see him playing some Wildcat QB in college since Kentucky has had plenty of success with such players.
is the fourth commitment the Wildcats have received in the 2021 recruiting class. This comes on the heels of the Cats losing a commitment from Ohio linebacker Devon Williams. Magwood still joins QB Kaiya Sheron, OT Paul Rodriguez, and OT David Wohlabaugh in the 2021 class.
This is a player that the staff is extremely proud about, and it’s always good to beat a few SEC schools and a rival for a recruit.
Have learned a lot about Magwood in recent days. Sounds like a different kind of kid. Several have said he is the kind who will show up on day one expecting to take someone's job.
