Kentucky has not reached out to Marcus Santos-Silva

One SEC program has reached out to the VCU transfer.

Despite VCU transfer Marcus Santos-Silva’s name making the rounds around Big Blue Nation, the Kentucky Wildcats have not reached out to the talented 6-7 forward.

According to Adam Zagoria, only Arizona State, Georgia, UConn, Siena, Miami, Illinois, Seton Hall, Washington State, and Virginia Tech are the only schools to reach out, thus far. Santos-Silva’s father even confirmed Kentucky has not reached out.

After MSS entered his name into the portal, he made waves around BBN by following the UK Basketball twitter account, as well as Kentucky signee Terrence Clarke clamoring for MSS to come join the roster for next season on his Instagram page.

Despite Kentucky not reaching out just yet, it doesn’t mean they won’t, as it seems Santos-Silva has an interest in playing for Kentucky, and Clarke certainly has an interest in playing with him.

MSS averaged 12.8 points and 8.9 boards per game last season and actually went toe-to-toe with potential Kentucky transfer Matt Haarms and his front court teammate Trevion Williams at Purdue.

Seeing that initial list, the only school Kentucky faces next season are the Georgia Bulldogs, so perhaps Santos-Silva could end up in the SEC. Also, LSU Tigers head coach Will Wade recruited Santos-Silva while at VCU, so one would think there could be interest there as well.

All in all, Kentucky needs frontcourt help, and for now, it looks like Haarms is the only man John Calipari is targeting to fill it.
