The Kentucky Wildcats will be without Ashton Hagans today vs. the Florida Gators.
Prior to the game, John Calipari announced that Hagans would be out due to personal reasons.
Ashton did not make the trip with us to Florida. He and I met a couple days ago and he asked to step away for a couple days for personal reasons. I support his decision. We are going to need him at 100% for the postseason.

With Hagans out, Tyrese Maxey will assume the starting point guard role, though will likely see Immanuel Quickley playing there as well. We could also see Johnny Juzang run the point some if Maxey and/or Quickley get in foul trouble.
This comes after Hagans and John Calipari were seen arguing on the bench during Tuesday’s loss to Tennessee. It happened in the second half when Calipari called Hagans from the bench to enter the game, but Hagans refused. He would eventually enter the game, but the Wildcats still fell to the Vols, and now they have to play at Florida without him.

Hopefully, Hagans is able to take enough time to get right for the postseason.
