Despite the arguing and the spats that occurred on the sidelines Tuesday night, this team still loves one another and has each other’s back, and that is something Keion Brooks touched on during today’s press conference.
“We love him, he’s still a great player. He’ll break through,” Brooks said of Ashton Hagans regarding his recent struggles.
Kyle Tucker added that the team had a very good practice on Thursday, so it sounds like the team really has moved past Tuesday’s setback and are forced on ending the regular season on a high note.
Keion Brooks says Cal was in a great mood at practice yesterday, that the team had a very good practice (which I’ve heard from several folks is true) and that the team just keeps reminding Ashton Hagans “we love him ... he’s still a great player ... he’ll break through.”— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) March 6, 2020
Hearing that is a positive and a step in the right direction when it comes to moving past a chemistry issue, something this team has not had up until now.
Hagans appeared to be going after John Calipari and Nick Richards both during Tuesday night’s collapse at home against the Vols, causing some concern and worry for Kentucky fans this late in the season.
Brooks said that there had been some tension and head butting between some of the players, but nothing that would be worrisome going into postseason play.
