The University of Kentucky has been cleaning up on in-state recruits lately. They’ve done very well in the city that produces the most talent, Louisville, and have finally started landing the big names across the state that normally go elsewhere.

Thursday night, the Kentucky coaching staff took another step in the recruitment of one of the state’s top players in 2021.

Dekel Crowdus is a four-star wide receiver with a five-star name. He hails from Frederick Douglas High School, and he is listed as the No. 44 wide receiver in the country and the No. 2 player in the state of Kentucky on Rivals.com.

The Kentucky Wildcats have officially cracked the final ten in Crowdus’ recruitment.

Crowdus has scholarship offers from just about everyone, and his list reflects some of the top programs in the country. Joining Kentucky on his top 10 list is Baylor, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Louisville, Oklahoma, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, and Texas. With so many teams still in the running, it is difficult to pick a favorite.

Crowdus checks in at 5-10, 169 pounds. So he could use a little bulking up in his senior year. But with the success of Frederick Douglas last year and Crowdus being surrounded by talented players, look for his senior year to be a big one.

Speaking of talented teammates, could four-star guard Jager Burton be on board to follow Crowdus to his college destination? While these things rarely play out, responding to Crowdus’ tweet with “package deal” is a pretty direct statement.

Never fear, Big Blue Nation. Vince Marrow is on the case for both of these guys. Go get ‘em, big dog.
