The Kentucky Wildcats run in SB Nation’s Fan Pulse Madness is over.

After defeating Boston University in the first round and the Providence Friars in the round of 32, the second-seeded Wildcats were defeated by the third-seeded Maryland Terrapins in the South Region’s Sweet 16.

Maryland won the voting 60% to 40% to knock off the Wildcats and to advance to the Elite 8, where they will take on the top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks.

Elsewhere in the bracket, the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Duke Blue Devils will meet in the West Region Finals. The Baylor Bears and Florida State Seminoles will clash in the Midwest Region final and the Dayton Flyers will take on the Michigan State Spartans in the East Region finals.

While Kentucky’s run in the tournament has come to an end, voting is still open to decide the Fan Pulse Madness National Champion. Click here to vote. Elite 8 voting ends Tuesday night.
