Over the past two seasons, the University of Kentucky has obliterated the Louisville Cardinals on the football field.
Most recently, the Cats dominated the Cards by a score of 45-13 in a game that didn’t even seem that close. Lynn Bowden absolutely embarrassed UofL by running for 284 yards and four touchdowns in a down pour.
If the past two years are any indication of the future, and many believe that they are, then Kentucky should be positioned well in the 2020 Governor’s Cup game that is to be played at Cardinal Stadium on November 28th. Despite the home-field advantage with UK’s returning experience on both sides of the ball you’d expect them to be favorites over Louisville in any preseason matchup predictors.
However, that’s not the case with online betting website Bet Online, who actually lists the game as a pick em in their way-too-early game lines for the biggest rivalry games of 2020.
Mark Stoops has things rolling in Lexington, while Scott Satterfield is still getting his feet underneath him in Louisville. Kentucky having to travel away from Kroger Field in the 2020 Governor’s Cup is notable, but with Terry Wilson returning, and the slew of talent that UK has on defense, there isn’t a solid case to make that Louisville should be listed a pick em with Kentucky.
The past two seasons have seen UK smash the Cards by a combined score of 101-23. Of course, it’s a rivalry game, and Louisville does return much of its 2019 roster, so perhaps this edition of the rivalry will actually take four full quarters to decide.
