The Kentucky Wildcats have found their quarterback in the Class of 2021.
On Monday, Somerset quarterback Kaiya Sheron announced his commitment to the Wildcats:
A three-star pro-style quarterback, Sheron is ranked 847th nationally by 247 Sports in addition to being the eighth-best recruit from Kentucky. Rivals also has him ranked eighth in the state.
Last season as a junior, the 6-3, 195-pound Sheron led Somerset to the program’s first state title, highlighted by his game-winning touchdown pass on the final play of the championship game:
Sheron finished the season with 3,218 passing yards, 960 rushing yards and 36 total scores.
Marshall is the only other school to have offered Sheron. Among the other schools who’ve show interest include the Louisville Cardinals, Vanderbilt Commodores, Purdue Boilermakers and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Sheron joins three-star offensive guard David Wohlabaugh, three-star linebacker Devon Williams, and three-star offensive tackle Paul Rodriguez as 2021 commitments for Kentucky.
Three-stars, No. 8 player in Kentucky. Watched him at camp, throws a really nice ball and a good athlete. Will be a very energetic recruiter for UK in the '21 class. Impressive kid all-around. https://t.co/69h4PSvJgR— Justin Rowland (@RowlandRIVALS) March 24, 2020
