The Kentucky Wildcats are getting ready for spring football which, and Mark Stoops spoke with the media Monday about the upcoming season.
Stoops noted that he will have 111 players in the spring, which is by far the most that they have had since he has been here.
The big question going into the spring is the status of quarterback Terry Wilson and how he is progressing with his injury. Stoops said that Wilson will not be participating in spring practice.
“Terry Wilson, limited. He won’t go through spring,” Stoops said. “He’s doing some throwing and getting his leg stronger and the rehab and all those things.”
The good news is Kentucky will have returning senior Sawyer Smith and Auburn transfer Joey Gatewood to get a lot of reps at quarterback in the spring.
Wilson isn’t the only one not participating in the spring, as Nik Scalzo, Davonte Robinson, Isaiah Epps, D’Eryk Jackson, and Taj Dodson will all be out or limited.
Hopefully, all of these players will be ready to go when the season gets here.
