Since John Calipari arrived in Lexington, the Kentucky Wildcats have routinely dominated the SEC awards and honors.

But through all of the countless honors the league has bestowed upon UK, no player has ever won consecutive SEC Player of the Week awards.

That changed on Monday, as Immanuel Quickley was named Co-SEC Player of the Week alongside Arkansas’ Mason Jones. Quickley won the award last week as well, which makes him the first player in UK history to earn the honor in two-straight weeks.

Quickley averaged 24 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists and one steal in wins over the Texas A&M Aggies and Auburn Tigers, which helped UK win the SEC regular-season title. He converted 9/ 17 3-pointers (52.9%) and all 11 of his free throws on the week.

The Baltimore native is now the favorite to win SEC Player of the Year award, and he should find himself on several All-American teams when it’s all said and done.
