Many fans remember Moncell Allen from his days on the Kentucky Football field. The player affectionately known as “Turtle” was known for his blocking ability as a member of the Kentucky Football field from 2007-2010.
Yesterday, Allen released the news that he has been diagnosed with coronavirus, and is sharing the message that people must take this seriously.
In an interview with Kentucky Sports Radio, Allen said that people should heed the warnings from government and health officials.
“You’ve just got to take it serious, man,” he said in the interview. “A lot of people just want to party, they want to still go out and play, do all the crazy things they’ve been doing. People need to understand how serious this is. It’s not just in China and these other places, it’s in the United States, it’s in Kentucky. I’m a prime example of someone people know that has this virus.”
Hopefully Turtle will be able to get well soon! As for the rest of us, let’s continue to wash our hands and practice social distancing the best we can.
