On Thursday, the NCAA Tournament was officially canceled. More and more events and other things continue to be canceled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and that’s now hitting the recruiting trail.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey announced that the SEC has suspended all on and off campus recruiting through March 30th.
Sankey also said he reached out to NCAA president Mark Emmert via text suggesting that the NCAA, “engage in on and off campus recruiting policies and changes” to create restrictions on all of this for some time.
Below is part of the press conference where Sankey discussed these decisions:

Hopefully, this doesn’t have a negative effect on Kentucky football recruiting, which has been on an absolute tear. And the basketball team may need to host a recruit or transfer in the coming months, so hopefully that’s not affected either.
