The NBA has suspended the season following the conclusion of tonight’s games, the league announced Wednesday night. The NBA will use this time off to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the Coronavirus.
The NBA also announced that a player on the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. The test result was reported shortly prior to the tip-off of tonight’s game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena. At that time, tonight’s game was canceled. The affected player was not in the arena, but the arena has been quarantined.
According to Woj, the player who tested positive was Jazz center Rudy Gobert.
The Jazz and Thunder players are currently quarantined in the OKC arena, league sources tell ESPN. This is following Rudy Gobert testing positive for the coronavirus.

It’s unclear when or if the season will resume. You have to wonder if the NCAA is going to follow suit and eventually suspended or even cancel the NCAA Tournament, which is set to begin less than a week from now.
