GALLERY: Kentucky holds off Mississippi State

The Wildcats snapped the Bulldogs’ five-game SEC winning streak.

Kentucky could’ve fallen victim to a Mississippi State Bulldogs team that looked to take advantage of an opportunity on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats were playing a team that had won five straight SEC matchups, and UK was coming off a loss at Auburn. But despite Mississippi State’s best efforts, UK was able to bounce back from the loss with an eight-point win.

Nick Richards was UK’s star yet again, as the junior big man had 27 points and 11 rebounds — yet another double-double. He and EJ Montgomery were a formidable tandem in the front court, as Montgomery had 12 points and eight rebounds; it was one of his best games of the year.

Immanuel Quickley was the only other Wildcat to reach double figures in scoring, as he had 21 points. Tyrese Maxey contributed across the stat sheet with eight points, five assists and four rebounds.
