The Kentucky Wildcats get back to their winning ways with a win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 80-72.
This game was dominated by Nick Richards and EJ Montgomery as the two combined for 39 points and 19 rebounds. Richards had two points going into the second half and looked like he would continue his struggles against good big men. He would then put up 25 second-half points and took over the game.
EJ might have had his breakout game tonight, as well. EJ looked like he was comfortable on the floor and played with a sense of confidence. Let’s hope he has turned the corner, much like Nick did earlier in the year.
Kentucky heads to Knoxville on Saturday where they haven’t won since 2015.

Great job by the big fella on both ends
Are we watching EJ Montgomery's best performance as a Wildcat? Certainly feels that way. Doing it all on both ends of the floor. https://t.co/Z23um8Qj4q

It’s like EJ woke up this morning, looked in the mirror, and finally realized he was 6’10

Few things are better than seeing the game “click” for a player, especially a five-star that returned to UK for a sophomore season. EJ Montgomery deserved every second of that standing ovation from the Rupp Arena crowd.

Immanuel Quickley has now reached double figures in 11 straight games.

Single-game record for made free throws in a game is 18 by Dwight Anderson in 1979. Quickley moves into the top 10 with 14 (of 14) tonight.

If the NBA scouts wanted to see Nick tested vs first round talent Reggie Perry, he passed
