It was very much like their first encounter this season, going back and forth for the whole game, only for one team to pull it out in the very end.
Immanuel Quickley dropped 18 points despite a poor performance from three-point range. Tyrese Maxey added 17 points and showed up again in a big game.
Kentucky won the game at the charity stripe with 27 made free throws. The Cats are back at home on Tuesday for Senior Night against the Vols.

Kentucky is your SEC regular season champs. Know nobody wants to give John Calipari credit, but this is maybe his best coaching job at UK. Just about every player is markedly better since November, and this team has essentially played one bad half (at S. Carolina) since Christmas— Aaron Torres (@Aaron_Torres) February 29, 2020
Kentucky is gonna end up as a a 1 seed with a home loss to Evansville on its resume.— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanHoops) February 29, 2020
Wildcats have been terrific for the past six weeks, reeling off 12 of 13. Immanuel Quickley has been the difference-maker.
Ok, probably not a 1 seed ... but could well wind up as a 2.
Calipari scoffs when asked about Evansville once again. Jokes that UK can’t be good because they lost a game on Nov. 12, can they? Won a conference title today, but can’t be good. He keeps going “Evansville. Evansville. Evansville.”— Jeff Drummond (@JDrumUK) February 29, 2020
"Anybody who talks about this team: Evansville, Evansville, Evansville, Evansville, Evansville." He might've said "Evansville" in that answer more than any person alive has ever said "Evansville." https://t.co/uEkWVWDE6J— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) February 29, 2020

Kentucky clinches the SEC regular season title with a home win over Auburn. Wildcats have lost only TWICE in 2020. Once was at the buzzer.#BBN— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) February 29, 2020
Immanuel Quickley being able to get to the line and score 18 is so important come March.— KY Clips (@KY_Clips) February 29, 2020
Even when the shots not falling, he’s still able to create scoring opportunities.
