DeMarcus Cousins is no longer a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
On Friday, word came down that LA waived Cousins, presumably to make room for the addition of Markieff Morris.
Lakers are waiving DeMarcus Cousins, league sources tell @Ramonashelburne and me.

Cousins signed a one-year deal with the Lakers over the summer, then tore his ACL in an offseason pick-up game. He was actually progressing enough in his rehab that a return late in the regular season or in the playoffs was possible. If that does happen, it won’t be with the Lakers, who are favored to win the 2020 NBA Finals.
Hopefully, Cousins gets healthy and lands with a playoff contender, though it’s possible he ends up sitting out the rest of the season and signs with a new team during the summer.
