The Kentucky Wildcats escape by the Ole Miss Rebels, 67-62. It was the first Saturday game at Rupp in over a month, and the Wildcats improved to 10-2 in conference play.
It was a pretty solid defensive game for the Cats, but shooting 2.22 from the three was the glaring issue that caused Ole Miss to stay in this game.
It was another solid outing for Nick Richards as well, as he played a phenomenal second half despite Ole Miss playing zone for the majority of the game. The zone disrupted the Wildcats’ play all game long, but in the end they prevailed.
A gritty win for Kentucky, who plays at LSU next Tuesday night.

Wasn't easy, but Kentucky pulls off the 67-62 win over Ole Miss.

Immanuel Quickley, Nick Richards, and Tyrese Maxey save the Cats on a day they shot 2-22 from three as a team.
I could watch ol' buddy airball that 3 all day. Is he walking yet?

LMAO what a pointless foul and HUGE free throws my Keion Brooks if you took Kentucky’s spread at halftime. pic.twitter.com/gg0ZbRCNXi

Kentucky survives at home against Ole Miss -- less than ideal final possession by the Rebels. Heck of a second-half effort by Nick Richards down the stretch, Immanuel Quickley and Tyrese Maxey made some big plays too.

What. The. Hell. Ole Miss?!

Kermit Davis is rather pissed at Devontae Shuler, who never gave up the ball and jacked an ugly, contested three, which missed and sailed out of bounds.
UK ball, up one, 7.5 to play.
After going 1-9 from the floor and 0-5 from three in the first half, Immanuel Quickley had 14 second half points, led Kentucky’s big run, and iced the game with free throws. He. Is. Clutch.

Ole Miss (+420) with arguably the worst possession ever to lose the game against UK 67-62 @betthehoops

Kentucky survives at home against Ole Miss. Slow starts continue to hurt the Cats.

Kentucky won a game where they shot 2-22 from 3-point range and Ashton Hagans struggled.

If you're new to Kentucky basketball here is the series with Ole Miss forever: Rebels have underrated coach, dangerous shooter, scrappy team. You never want to play them. It looks iffy but Kentucky wins, sometimes pulling away.

EJ Montgomery and Keion Brooks attempted just two shots total (both by Brooks, both misses) but they combined for 14 rebounds in 32 minutes.

Kermit Davis: "I don't think Cal gets enough credit for player development." Cites how IQ was a non-factor last year against Ole Miss and was the difference today.
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) February 15, 2020
Today marked Kentucky's worst shooting performance (39%) since the loss to Evansville (37%) on Nov. 12. Just the third time this season the Wildcats have failed to shoot 40% from the floor.
