The Kentucky Wildcats are in the best position they have been in a long time. Fresh off back to back excellent seasons, the program is as close to an SEC East crown as it’s ever been.
Mark Stoops has done an amazing job, and one guy who’s played a huge role in making all of this happen has been Vince Marrow.
Marrow has been a recruiting machine for the Cats as he has gone in a taken highly-rated players out of Ohio, dominating with in-state talent, and just took the top-ranked player out of Michigan.
Thankfully, Marrow will be sticking around to help continue Kentucky’s surge up the SEC, as he has declined an offer to join Michigan State’s coaching staff.
#BBN, I’m staying home! Thank you for all of the love and support. Wow! You people are crazy. A big thanks goes to @UKCoachStoops, @UKMitchBarnhart, @UKYpres and @Marcus_D_Hill. This is a special place and we have #UnfinishedBusiness. Let’s go!

The Spartans just hired Mel Tucker from Colorado to be their next head coach, and they immediately reached out to Marrow to be their lead recruiter with a significant pay increase.
Marrow and Tucker are good friends, and both have solid connections in Ohio, which had to make the situation even better in Marrow’s eyes when deciding whether or not to leave Lexington.
But in the end, Marrow’s connection to Mark Stoops and Kentucky Football was strong enough to win out once more.
Over the last year, Marrow has declined an offer to join the Michigan Wolverines’ staff, as well as the head-coaching job at Youngstown State, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise he spurned Michigan State’s offer as well.
Now, Marrow and the Wildcats will look to continue their quest for an SEC East title and a trip to Atlanta for the conference title game.
