So here we are. The Kentucky Wildcats are 3-6 on the season but they do have one more chance to get a victory against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Gamecocks are abysmal this season and they’ve had forty or more points put up on them five times.
They don’t have a coach and many of their best players have opted out. If there was ever a game for the Cats to win to put a bow on the season, this is the one. UK is a double digit favorite on Senior Day and it’s a good opportunity to send them off on a high note.
There are many questions around the program, particularly the offense, that the coaches will have to answer in the offseason. They will also have to make a decision as to whether or not they would play in a bowl game if invited as there are conflicting reports if they would accept a bowl bid or not.

Hopefully these guys can end their careers at UK with a win. They’ve been a part of a lot of victories in their four seasons.
Quickies
Will Shi Smith play for South Carolina? | The State- Shi Smith is the most talented player the Gamecocks have on offense (perhaps on the team) and has been out for a number of games.
Kentucky vs. South Carolina odds | Garnet and Black Attack- Kentucky is favored by double digits and it would be great if they covered.
Kentucky says farewell to a number of seniors | UK Athletics- These seniors have played in a number of wins and bowl games for Kentucky. They laid a foundation for the program and let’s hope that it is a solid one.
Young Cats struggle to create their own energy | Cats Pause- I noticed this as well. The players are about as lifeless as can be during crucial stretches in the game.
Karl-Anthony Towns has lost more than most due to COVID | CBS- Karl-Anthony Towns has known nothing but tragedy during the pandemic. He has lost six family members due to COVID. He lost his mother earlier this year because of it.
Bradley Beal shocked by John Wall trade | ESPN- Beal and Wall were seen as an emerging dynamic duo in Washington before injuries derailed Wall’s trajectory.
College football week 14 primer | Sporting News- I’m honestly shocked we made it to week 14. It feels like college football is limping along to the finish line.
Ohio State cleared to play Michigan State | USA Today- The Buckeyes have a bummy resume but the committee will gift them a spot in the playoff. Yuck.
Week 11 bold predictions | SDS- SC has a woeful rush defense so I can see this prediction happening.
I will be on the call for the UK Postgame Show for the last time this season as it pertains to football.
