Following the postponement of Sunday’s Kentucky vs. Tennessee women’s basketball game due to COVID-19, the SEC has moved up the Cats’ game at No. 12 Mississippi State – originally scheduled for Jan. 24 – to Sunday at 1 pm ET in Starkville.
The battle of top-15 teams will air on ESPN2 inside Humphrey Coliseum. Mississippi State was originally scheduled to host Vanderbilt on Sunday, but the game was postponed due to COVID-19.
UK will begin SEC play on Thursday vs. No. 10 Arkansas inside Memorial Coliseum. The game will tip at 8:30 pm ET on SEC Network.
Following the battles with Arkansas and Mississippi State, UK will then play at No. 9 Texas A&M next Thursday, Jan. 7, then return home Sunday, Jan. 10, to host No. 5 South Carolina.
If all four teams remain in the top 15 of the AP rankings at the time of each game, it will be the first time in program history that UK has faced four straight AP top-15 ranked teams. UK has faced three straight several times.
This also means both the men and women will be in Starkville this weekend, as the men play there Saturday at 6 pm ET on the SEC Network.
