The Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team will not face Tennessee this Sunday.

On Tuesday, the SEC announced that this game, along with the Tennessee - Texas A&M matchup on Dec. 31, have been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Volunteers program. For now, there is no makeup date currently scheduled.

This means both the Kentucky men’s and women’s basketball teams have had an SEC game postponed in the first week of league play. The men were originally set to begin conference play tonight vs. South Carolina, but COVID-19 issues within the Gamecocks program led to that matchup being postponed. No makeup date has been scheduled for that either.

The women, who enters league play at 7-1 overall and ranked 11th in the Coaches Poll, are still set to open SEC play on Thursday vs. the No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks inside Memorial Coliseum. The game will tip at 8:30 pm ET on SEC Network.
