With the Kentucky Wildcats Wednesday game against South Carolina postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Gamecocks’ program, that leaves the Wildcats still searching for an opponent.
According to Matt Jones of KSR, Kentucky was trying to schedule Hartford for Wednesday, but that game is now likely not going to take place.
There was rumors of the Wildcats potentially looking at Bellarmine for a potential replacement game, but that has since died down as of last week.
If Kentucky is still looking for a replacement come Monday evening, Bellarmine would be a great last-minute add to the schedule. Bellarmine already faced Duke earlier in the season, so I see no reason why Kentucky wouldn’t agree to a game with the Knights.
The only downside is that Bellarmine has always been a Division II power, so there is a threat that Bellarmine *could* pull off an upset, especially against this Kentucky team.
The search for a new opponent continues.
