In what’s already shaping up to be a wild and unpredictable season due to COVID-19, the madness continued Wednesday with another blue blood going down.
After just over a week of the new season, every blue-blooded program has lost, including Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, Indiana, and now North Carolina.
The 14th-ranked Tar Heels suffered their first defeat Wednesday in the Maui Invitational Championship, as the 17th-ranked Texas Longhorns came away with a last-second win.
With the clock winding down of a 67-all game, Texas guard Matt Coleman III hit a jumper with .1 seconds remaining, giving them the tournament crown and sending North Carolina home empty-handed.
