In what was a much-anticipated and hopeful matchup in this crazy season, fans will have to hold off until next year to get back into the rivalry.
For Kentucky fans, this might sting a little more, as the Cats were looking to stretch the win streak in the Governor's Cup matchup to three games, and we all know how the last two went. Getting to beat them in a bowl would have been just as nice.
For the series overall, Kentucky is leading 17-15.
Mark Stoops has said that his team plans on playing in a bowl game this season with the most likely destinations being the Music City bowl or the Liberty Bowl.
