Tuesday saw Kentucky officially announced the hiring of Los Angeles Rams assistant QB coach Liam Coen as their new offensive coordinator. Coen will be joining the Wildcats and Coach Stoops when the Rams finish their season up.
Coen was chosen out of long list of potential suitors, but it ultimately came down to four candidates: Coen, Joe Moorhead, Brian Brohm and Bush Hamdan. Coen was chosen to be OC and quarterbacks coach, filling two positions with one hire.
Now, the question that a lot of fans have on their mind is did they get it right? Did Mark Stoops make the right hire and pick the man for the job to help lead Kentucky’s stagnant offense and bring some life to Lexington?
Coen was OC at Maine for a brief period a few years ago and has since been with the Rams under coach Sean McVay, working with the likes of Jared Goff, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp.
What are your thoughts? Did Kentucky get it right?
