It’s by no means a done deal, but this is the direction it’s trending.

Mark Stoops came out earlier Monday and said that he was not sure if the Kentucky Wildcats football program would accept a bowl invite this year, stating it would be up to the “temperature of the team.”

Well now it seems things may be shifting towards the Wildcats taking their bowl invite, wherever they end up, according to Justin Rowland of Rivals.

Rowland says that while there has not been a formal decision made as of yet, he is hearing that It is likely that Kentucky does indeed accept their bowl bid, despite earlier reports that would have suggested otherwise.

If this is the case, then I am glad that Stoops and company will accept their invite, as I personally believe that getting that extra month of practice and potentially winning your bowl game could do wonders for the program going into next season.

However, from the looks of it, they may have to play their bowl game without their best secondary player, as Kelvin Joseph has opted out of the season to focus on preparing for the NFL Draft.
