We’ve known that many folks in the recruiting world think highly of Kentucky Basketball point guard commitment Nolan Hickman, with rumors that he could be one of the more underrated prospects in the 2021 class.
And a piece by 247’s Jerry Meyer seems to confirm just that.
In a recent mailbag, Meyer listed Hickman as one of three prospects that he believes should be bumped from a four-star to a five-star prospect.
Take a look at what Meyer had to say below.
Hickman, a Kentucky commitment, is ranked No. 42 in the 247Sports Composite while 247Sports has him ranked No. 30. Like Obaseki, Hickman is a bottom half five-star in my opinion. Hickman has a modern day point guard game in that he is athletic and has the full package of skills.
Here is a scouting report on Hickman from former 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Josh Gershon: Point guard with good size and length. Plus athlete with frame that will allow for strength with maturity. Competitor with impressive mental makeup. Does nice job balancing shooting and creating for others. Versatile scorer and savvy facilitator. Strong on ball defender. Has both high floor and high ceiling. Easy high major starter with NBA upside.
That’s some pretty high praise, and should make Kentucky fans excited for Hickman to be in Lexington. It seems that Hickman will likely continue to rise in the rankings and be among the top point guard prospects in the 2021 class.
