Kelvin Joseph opting out to focus on 2021 NFL Draft

Joseph has had a great season for the Cats, so this will be a big loss for the defense.

Kentucky Wildcats cornerback Kelvin Joseph has opted out of the remainder of the 2020 season to focus on the 2021 NFL Draft. He made the announcement Monday night on Twitter.

That means the man nicknamed Bossman Fat won’t play this week vs. South Carolina or in a bowl game if Kentucky goes to one.

This is a big loss for Kentucky’s defense, as Joseph has been having an outstanding season for the Cats after getting off to a rough start through the first two games. He currently has a team-high four interceptions to go with 25 total tackles.

Joseph is only a redshirt sophomore, but with how well he’s been playing at what’s a premium position in the NFL, it shouldn’t be a real surprise he’s off to the pros after just one year in Lexington following his transfer from LSU.
